1809 Tax List Wayne County, Kentucky, several more tax lists before and after this one show Jacob paying taxes on land that was entered by Mary Back, surveyed for Jacob Back. One of his other parcels was entered by Nicholas Lloyd, Jacob's wife's brother, and the third one by Thomas Lloyd, Jacob's wife's father.

This is NOT the marriage record of an older Joseph Back to an Elizabeth Huffman on a much earlier date as some claim. No record of an earlier Joseph Back married to an Elizabeth Huffman has been found in any original records. Claims of such an earlier couple with these names have been presented without citations to sources.

Back and S. Jett", proof that the Joseph Back who lived and died in Garrard Co KY was the same Joseph Back who had land surveyed on Slate Creek in what was then Fayette County in 1785.
